Tarte Natural Cheek Stain in Flush

I have very pale skin and my face gets red all the time, even when I'm not embarrassed! I hardly ever wear blush simply because I'm afraid of looking too flushed.
Its for this reason that I am so surprised that I would ever like a cheek stain! But to my delight, Tarte has one that I am completely in love with.
This is a very natural looking color that I think would compliment multiple skin tones. I only use a dab of it, because like I said I get red very easily, but it looks great.
The application is smooth and you can build up the color easily.
I give this 5/5 stars.
I don't know if I would buy the full sized version of this only because I don't wear blush all that often, but its still a great product.

Tarte LipSurgence in Enchanted

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! It was nice to have a break from school and "real life" and just spend time relaxing.
For Christmas this year my sisters got me little sample sized versions of some of Tarte's best selling products and I thought I might do a review on each of them.

The first one is a LipSurgence, which is a lip tint.

I was a bit skeptical because I haven't had the greatest luck with lip stains in the past, but this one really surprised me!

It isn't really moisturizing but it stays on beautifully throughout the day, even when I apply a lip balm or lip gloss over it.
The color itself, enchanted, its a little bright, for me anyway, but it can be applied lightly to give you a small amount of color, or layered to really make an impact.

I give this product 5/5 stars. I really want to try other colors and purchase a full sized one.

August Favorites

1. Natural Hair   I was totally into natural hair for most of August. I had gotten a haircut in the very beginning of the month and getting all of my dead ends cut off gave my hair such volume and shine that heat styling it would be a crime! ;)

2. Clinique 3 step Skin care system  I had taken a few weeks off from using this system and though I didn't break out that much, I still noticed a difference. Once I began using it again my skin cleared right up.

3. Tresemme heat tamer spray  When I did choose to forego the natural hair and style it, I used this. I've used this for a little over a year now and its the best heat protectant I've ever tried. I fully recommend this product.

4. Sally Hansen nail polish in "Time to Shine"  This is a fun bronzy/gold color that I think is perfect for fall. I purchased it at the very end of the month, but I love it so much I had to include it here.

5. Viva la Juicy perfume   This is pretty much a "forever favorite" of mine. This is my everyday scent, no matter the season. Though I wear it pretty much all year round, I feel as if its best suited for summer.

July Favorites (a tad bit late!)

Here is a list of all the products I used most during July!

1. Urban Decay liquid liner in ecstasy. This is a deep purple that adds a pop of color to a neutral eye look without being too over-the-top, or its great for adding even more color to a colorful look. I have also loved their liquid liner in minx, a nice turquoise color, but ecstasy has gotten more use. :)

2. Benefit's Benetint. OMG! This is such a nice color and it smells like roses! I love this. It adds a nice berry color to my lips. I feel like I have to reapply it during the middle of the day, but besides that the color lasts pretty long and I just really love it for summer.

3. Urban Decay cream shadow in mushroom. This is a nice gray/taupe color that isn't too dark, but is definitely easy to build the intensity. This is also a great everyday color to sweep on when I have no time to get ready in the morning.

4. Urban Decay cream shadow in sphynx. This is a nice sparkly pink color with TONS of glitter. I like to apply two or three layers because just one layer is kind of sheer. Plus, the more I apply, the more glitter gets on my lids! This color is wearable enough for daytime, but is probably better for night time because of all the glitter.

5. Maybelline's The big colossal mascara. I accidently purchased this mascara in the color 'glam brown' when I had every intention of buying it in a black shade. My old mascara was drying out and I wanted to try something new and let me tell you this mascara does not disappoint! This mascara does not clump my lashes and adds a nice amount of lenght, though not as much volume as I would like. The brown shade is actually quite dark. There is only a slight difference between 'glam brown' and other mascaras I own colorwise.

6. Physician's Formula shimmer strips gel liner for blue eyes. This stack of gel liners comes with a navy blue, a brown and a black with blue shimmer. The blue adds a nice touch of color without being too dramatic and I feel like it really does enhance my blue eyes. The brown shade is great if I want to do a look that is a bit more muted and natural than using regular black liner. The black with blue shimmer does not really look like it has any shimmer at all unless you look very closely. However, when I wear a blue shade on my lids and this color gel liner I am able to notice the blue specks a little more and those two things combined help enhance my natural eye color.

7. Viva Glam Gaga lipstick (1st edition). I only use a small amount as it can begin to look like hot pink/barbie/a little old-lady-ish if I apply too much. But this a nice summer color that goes with many eye looks or adds a nice touch of color to an otherwise bare face.

8. Clinique's Take the day off makeup remover. This is great at removing even the most stubborn waterproof mascara. I only have the a little travel sized bottle but will certainly pick up a full sized bottle when this one runs out. Its an oil based remover so its great at breaking down products which helps remove them faster.

Just because SHE'S pretty, doesn't mean YOU'RE ugly.

These are words that I wish I heard earlier in my life. With the way society is, it can feel as if you're never enough, that you are lacking in some area of your life.
Often I see pictures of girls in magazines and on the internet which showcase beautiful girls who are either naturally that way, or are photoshopped/airbrushed to look that way. It can really take a toll on your self esteem, mine included. However, its important to know that just because someone in a magazine is beautiful, it does not mean that you are bad looking.
I know you've heard it countless times before; pick out something about yourself that you like and forget all the negative feeling/comments you have about yourself.
For the majority of us this is easier said than done. When I look in the mirror my eyes dart to the things I wish I could change. My round face, my nose, etc. These things make me wish I had a different face entirely (don't even get me started on the rest of my body!).
But, one thing I do like is my eyes. When doing my makeup I make them the focus of my whole entire look.
If your favorite part of your body is your waist, wear a belt, or a piece of clothing with an empire waist to show it off!
Makeup can only do so much. Having confidence is the main way to show off your beauty!
Everyone is beautiful and you have to believe that! :)

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette

The Too Faced Natural Eye Palette comes with nine shades to create the perfect neutral eye for day that can easily be transitioned for a night out.
This palette also comes with three cards that each have different directions for three different looks and a pull out drawer that reveals a double ended brush for applying the shadows.

The first row (day) features three matte eyeshadows. Heaven is a light white that is the perfect highlight color. Next is velvet revolver which is a nice crease color that works well with many shadows and different looks. The third color in the first row is sexpresso. Sexpresso is a deep chocolate brown that is great for the outer corner or on the upper and lower lash lines for liner.
The second row (classic) features three shimmery shadows. Silk teddy, the first color in the row has shimmer and a small amount of glitter, but is the perfect shade for everyday wear. Push up also has shimmer and is another great color to wear on the lid. Erotica, the third color in this row is one of my favorites from the entire palette. Its a light shade of gray with some glitter. I also enjoy wearing this on my lid with a darker color in the crease to make it more dramatic, some liner and mascara and you have the perfect going out look! Erotica also makes for a good crease or outer "v" color to intensify any look.

The third row (fashion) features a color nude beach. Nude beach is basically glitter. I find this hard to work with because it creates so much fallout. Its pretty, but its also a color I skip over a lot because its just so messy. Honey pot is a nice golden color that is great for summer! It is also a shimmer so it creates a nice look on the eyes, especially when worn with a blue liner or shadow on the lower lash line. Cocoa puff is the third color in the palette and this shadow also has some shimmer to it. I tend to favor sexpresso when darkening up my eye makeup and also tend to skip over this shadow, but when I do decide to wear it I don't regret it! It offers a unique flair to the crease and is better suited for day looks than night looks, though it works perfectly fine with either.
The only problem I have with this palette is the fallout of a few of the shades, namely nude beach and silk teddy. They can be kind of a hassle to clean off the face, but not so much so that I regret buying the palette.

I give this product 4/5 stars as the packaging can be kind of bulky. I find the drawer kind of a waste as I don't use the applicator that often. The side with the sponge tip will probably never get used, but the angled side is great for brows or applying one of the shadows as eyeliner, and I do like it, but I could do without. Other than that I think this is a great set that everyone should check out!
Too Faced also has similar palettes with different shades and colors so if you like the idea of this but not the colors check out the other palettes as I'm sure there is one you will like!

Covergirl Natureluxe Gloss Balms.

Recently, I went to a Taylor Swift concert. While on the way to my seat I was approached by someone from Covergirl. They were giving away FREE natureluxe gloss balms! I was so excited!
These retail around six or seven dollars so getting a free one is really awesome. Shortly after getting the first one, in tulip, I was approached by someone else and got one is spice this time.
I was with my two sisters and between the three of us the free products made up for paying forty dollars in parking fees at the stadium.

Tulip, the first color I received, is a nice light pink. Its the perfect color for a casual day out.
Spice is a little darker. I don't think I would have picked this color out for myself in the store, but I really love the way it looks on my lips.

Both of these colors are sheer but you can build up the color, especially if you're using a darker color like spice. I think these would look great on any skin tone. I've only had them for a few days but I'm already a fan. Regular chapstick or lip balm would be better if you're looking for something moisturizing, but I do find that these offer some hydration to my lips. They come in plenty of colors so there's something for everyone.
I give this product 5/5 stars.

p.s At the concert I guess covergirl was also giving free makeovers. I didn't see where but I heard about it. If you're going to a Taylor Swift concert be on the lookout for freebies like this and free makeovers!!
Also, you'll have an amazing time! Taylor was awesome!!!!!
